Green Initiative

At The Video Professional.com, we believe you should leave this world a better place than you found it. That is part of the reason we take initiative to lessen our footprint.

We are proud to use only rechargeable energy packs/batteries for all of our equipment and have done so since we opened our doors. We print all of our products on recycled paper with a minimum 30% post consumer content.

Our editing system is custom designed and we are glad to say that all components are RoHS compliant. Our computer's use 80+ silver class modular power supplies (80% or better energy efficiency) and we deploy "green" hard drives in all our stations. We recycle 100% of our outdated or non-functional electronics and donate any still functional equipment to local schools when possible as we upgrade.

We recently upgraded our battery back-up systems to energy efficient APC models that shut power off when equipment is not in use and we also are proud to recycle all of our office waste that we can (about 70%.)

All these initiatives are great but we know there is still room for improvement. We will soon be adding tapeless acquisition and are hoping to increase online deployments as we continue to look for cost effective ways to be responsible so your children and ours can enjoy this world for generations to come.

For document printing on recycled paper we like using FedEx/Kinko's because they offer 100% recycled content paper (though they are sometimes sold out and you have to use 30% pcw recycled.) For more information, click here.
